Font Awesome for Divi Builder plugin by The Divi Magazine

Current version: 2.3 | Released: 2016-09-29

Tested with:
WordPress: 3.6.1
Divi: 3.0.9
Extra: 2.0.8
Divi Builder: 1.3.10
(It might work with other versions as well, but not guaranteed. It usually does. šŸ˜‰ )

With the Font Awesome for Divi Builder plugin you will be able to use Font Awesome – the iconic font and CSS toolkit – on your Divi Builder powered WordPress site. The plugin is compatible with the Divi Builder plugin, the Divi theme and the Extra theme.

No programming needed, just activate, check a box, copy a code and you are ready to go.

Note: you will need to generate your own Font Awesome embed code here! It is not provided by The Divi Maganize.

You can easily customize the look and feel of lists based on your needs without any CSS coding. Just look for the settings in the WordPress admin under Divi > Font Awesome or Extra > Font Awesome.

The plugin does not (yet) provide a UI for inserting icons into your content. To see how you can use specific fonts, please refer to the Examples page of Font Awesome.

Note: The plugin was specifically created for use with the Divi Builder plugin, or the themes Divi and Extra (from Elegant Themes). Using a child theme is highly recommended.

Hi – I have added in icons in my 4 column section, adding each icon above the heading for the section. Whenever I edit the page (anywhere on the page) my edits are lost and the icons disappear. Have you heard of that happening? What do I do to retain the icons in the page?

      Hi Laurie,
      Sorry for the late reply.
I haven’t heard exatly this, but I had occasions when the icons were disappearing for me. But then it stopped.
You could possible try to switch on the experimental feature in the 2.0 version of the plugin, maybe that helps.

Do you have a font-awesome plugin for Extra as well?

      Hi again Nicole,
Meanwhile the plugin was updated and should work with Extra as well. Give it a try!

Hi, I installed your plug-in but I cannot see the item under the Divi menu. I’m using WordPress version 4.5.3 and Divi 2.7.8. Is there something I can do to debug?

      Hi Americo,
Which version did you install? Version 1.0 doesn’t have any settings or menu. Only version 2.x does.

    Hi Andras

Feeling a bit stupid but it doens’t seem to work at all.
I installed and tried both but now stick with the version 2.
I only checked “Enable Font Awesome”.
I deactivated all other plugins to see if they cause a problem…

But either way, I can’t see any new icons in the blurb modul nor does the tag “” work.

Any idea whats going wrong here?

    Cheers Thomas

      Hi Thomas,
Thanks for reaching out! Let me help you with this.
When you install the plugin, you will not be able to see the fontawesome icons in the box where the icons are listed for the blurb.
If you want to replace the icons, then you need to follow the instructions in this article: http://www.divi-magazine.com/how-to-replace-the-blurb-icon-with-font-awesome/

Let me know if you still need some help!
      Cheers,
      Andras

Hello, I feel kinda dumb but I was hoping you could help me.
I’m new to this plugin and I’ve activated it and added the .js that was sent to me, but I don’t know how to actually add the icons to a text field or anything. I’ve tried using the code: but nothing appears. Can you please help me?

    Thanks!

      Hey Hector,

When you are in the editor, switch to text mode and enter the tags there. It will not work in visual mode.
      Does this help?
